Heidi Ritzman Read, 33, of Sandy, died March 8, 2000 at Alta View Hospital of childbirth complications.
Born February 6, 1967, in Salt Lake City to Ray and Marilyn Ritzman, now of West Des Moines, Iowa, she lived in various parts of the country during her youth, spending a major part of the time in Iowa.Heidi married Allen Paul Read on April 25, 1988, in the Salt Lake Temple.
He is the son of Ronald and Helen Read of San Diego, California.
She graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in English literature.
In the LDS Church, Heidi served in many callings, including ward Relief Society president.
She believed strongly in quality parenting and had recently begun home schooling her children.
Survivors include her husband, parents and five children, Madeleine, 9, Savannah, 7, Joshua, 5, Benjamin, 3, and Collin Michael, born March 8; one brother, John Ritzman, West Des Moines, Iowa; five sisters, Kimberly
Ritzman, Salt Lake City; Katie (Brent) Bangerter, Salt Lake City; Heather (Paul) Hansen, Anderson, California; Jessica (David) Hanson, Central Point, Oregon; Sara Ritzman, West Des Moines, Iowa; and grandparents, Herbert and Norma Ritzman of Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 13, 12 noon, at the Midvale East Stake Center, 240 East 7570 South. Viewings will be Sunday, March 12, 6-8 p.m., at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, Midvale, and Monday at 11 a.m. at the stake center. Interment, Mtn. View Memorial Estates.
