Admittedly, most politicians travel the low road, but the high road still exists, and there is at least one man on it: Alan Keyes.

We haven't heard much about Alan Keyes because the media doesn't travel his road. They seem to prefer the low-life political controversies of the dominant Republican and Democratic camps. Has anyone seen any signs of nobility or integrity or principled conduct in those races? Not only is Keyes the man with integrity, but he has sensible and intelligent solutions to important issues before us. Unlike his rivals', the Keyes tax plan makes sense. His campaign-finance reform ideas are the best on the table. His grasp of constitutional government would satisfy the Founding Fathers. His approach to curbing the scope of government intrusion in our lives is very refreshing.

As an educated man, Keyes is eminently qualified to lead in educational reform. He is an abortion foe who has no equal, and his resolve to do something about it is unmatched.

He is a Christian and devout Catholic, and one would almost think that he had studied the prophetic warnings familiar to many Utahns that assure that when we turn our backs on the God of this land, who is Jesus Christ, he will turn his back on us. The problems we currently face in this country would suggest that this process is well under way.

Gov. Mike Leavitt, Sen. Orrin Hatch, Rep. Chris Cannon and the rest of our representatives have apparently decided that Utah is "Bush Country." While none of the presidential contenders is worse than Bill Clinton, it should be equally clear that none is better than Alan Keyes.
