Ross W. Palmer, 81, loved and respected husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend peace-fully passed away surrounded by his family at his home in South Jordan on March 31, 2000.
He was bornJuly 5, 1918 in South Jordan, a son of Joseph Fred and Birdie Beckstead Palmer. Married JenaVee Larsen on June 30, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ross loved his family and they all knew it. He will be dearly missed. Ross was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in various capacities. He truly loved his mission with JenaVee to North Carolina and their years of service as temple workers in the Jordan River Temple. They were constant companions who loved and supported each other for over 56 years. Ross was a life time resident of South Jordan. He served in World War II, operated a dairy farm, drove a school bus, loved to farm and garden, knew well the law of the harvest, and could fix most anything. Music was a big part of his life. He sang together with his sisters and brothers for more than 70 years. Most of all, Ross loved people, his family, friends, neighbors. He is well known for his integrity, generosity, wisdom, and willingness to help one in need. Although Dad will be missed, we celebrate knowing he still loves each of us and we will be together again.
He is survived by his wife, JenaVee; six sons, Grant (Hazel), Lynn (Terry), Paul (Claudette), Stuart (Susan), Keith (Sheri), Dennis (Verlene); one daughter, Jenae Christensen; 31 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Vida Hutchings, Myrl (Jay) Burton, and Birdie (Earl) Crane; sisters-in-law, Colleen (Arnold) Parry and Lois Larsen. Preceded in death by two grandchildren, five brothers and two sisters.
