Ora Hamilton Burrup, 87, Provo, died Saturday, May 20, 2000.
She was born February 3, 1913, in Sugar City, Idaho, to John William Ham-ilton and Almina Winmill Hamilton. She married Percy Edward Burrup, August 12, 1936, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After raising her family, she was a librar-ian at Wasatch Elementary School in the Provo School District for nine years. She was a driving force behind the Provo Women's Council for nearly twenty years and was honored for her community service by the BYU Emeritus Alumni Association. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include her five daughters, Kaye Hunsaker (Glen), Pleasant Grove; Dixie Johnson (Terry), Eagle Mountain; Beverly Zimmerman (Scott), Orem; Marjory Cornelius (Bill), Orem; Diane Lawyer (Gaylen), Orem; 26 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Afton Poulter Dutson, Logan; Belle Webster, Rexburg, Idaho; Doris Campbell (Bud), Swan Valley, Idaho; one brother, Jim Hamilton (Marion), St. Anthony, Idaho.Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 23rd at 11 a.m. at the Edgemont Ninth Ward LDS Chapel, 4300 North Canyon Road, Provo. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, Monday, May 22nd from 7 to 9 p.m., or on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the chapel, prior to services. Interment, East Lawn Memorial Hills, Provo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Percy E. Burrup Scholarship Fund at Brigham Young University.
