Becky Z. Wintrobe, 95, died at home on May 21, 2000.

Daughter of Jacob and Eva Zanphir, she grew up in Winnipeg, Canada where she married Dr. Maxwell M. Wintrobe, on Jan. 1, 1927.She was preceded in death by her husband (December 1986) and their son Paul (August 1952). She is survived by her daughter Susan W. Walker (John), four grandsons, Andrew William, Stephen Robert, Timothy Wintrobe (Angela Dean) and David Jonathon Brown, a great-grand daughter Phoebe Ellen, and a sister Athalie Friedman (Lazar).

Becky was active in the League of Women Voters and the Utah Symphony Guild. She was a member of the Chamber Music Society, the University of Utah Women's Club, Epioneans, and the University of Utah Health Sciences Council. During Dr. Wintrobe's reign in the Department of Internal Medicine, she served as "the hostess with mostest"

The family thanks Becky's "girls", Bonnie, Jenny, Jill, Lita, Suzy and Teri for the dedicated care they provided with compassion, humor, and friendship. Sincere thanks to Dr. Gerald Rothstein for his exceptional care, concern and friendship. Thanks also to Hospice of Utah.

Honoring Becky's wishes, the burial was private. Please, no flowers.
