KOOSHAREM, Utah--

Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Ileen Vernice Schaugaard Hatch, age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 26, 2000, at the home of her son in Highland, Utah.She was born December 11, 1910, in Koosharem, Utah, a daughter of Christian Ephraim and Julia Torgerson Schaugaard, both deceased. She married Gilbert Lamoyn Hatch on December 31, 1931, in Manti, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, June 1, 1939. He died March 12, 2000.

Ileen was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in the Relief Society, Primary and MIA. For many years, Ileen was employed as a cook for the Fish Lake Lodge. She loved to do handiwork, including delicate crocheting and hand quilting. She also devoted a lot of time to beautifying her yard.

She is survived by her son, Aurell and Kathleen Hatch of Highland; Orville (deceased) and Gail Hatch of Kaysville; grandchildren, Teresa (David) Love, Kerry (Jolene) Hatch, Jolene (Mike) Sorenson, Lamoyn Hatch; seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Julaine White of Hurricane. She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2000, at 12 noon in the Koosharem LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West, Richfield, on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the ward chapel in Koosharem Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the Koosharem Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
