Our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Ray Lawrence Bowden passed away peacefully at his home on May 29, 2000 surrounded by his two loving daughters.

He was born Jan. 8, 1910 in Brigham City, Utah to George Henry and Olive Matilda Nielson Bowden. He graduated from Brigham High School and attended the University of Utah. He married Beaulah Estelle Collins on June 25, 1930, their marriage was later solemnized on January 26, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He loved hunting and fishing with his wife and children and in his early years he was an avid boxer and he loved to ride his motorcycle. He was a member of the LDS Church where he taught Sunday School, served on the High Council, and as a councilor in the bishopric. He was a dedicated home teacher.Survived by his daughters, Jeanne (Garven) Daybell and LaRae Herron; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Archie; and sisters, Bernice Froerer and Naomi Bennett.

Preceded in death by parents; wife; grandson, Kelvin; son-in-law, Owen Herron; brothers, George, Irvin, Lloyd, Carlyle, and Paul; and sister, Zelda.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2000 12 noon at the Magna East Stake Center, 2875 South 8000 West. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 west 2700 South, Magna, and Friday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church.
