NEW YORK (AP) -- A mentally ill man who killed a woman by pushing her in front of a subway train was sentenced Thursday to 25 years to life in prison.

Just before he was sentenced, Andrew Goldstein apologized to the family of Kendra Ann Webdale and blamed the death on his failure to take his medication for schizophrenia."It's been a horrible nightmare since this incident began," Goldstein said.

Goldstein, 30, was convicted of second-degree murder for killing Webdale last year. He pushed the 32-year-old woman off a subway platform into the path of a train.
