ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) -- Former Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Bill Musselman died today, WCCO Radio of Minneapolis reported.

The 59-year-old Musselman, now an assistant with the Portland Trail Blazers, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in April. He suffered a stroke Oct. 28 and later learned it might have been triggered by the myeloma, which is cancer of the bone marrow.WCCO reported that he died at about 3 a.m.

Musselman said he had recovered from the stroke and was working out before he started losing energy and noticed swelling in his legs. Musselman compiled a career record of 233-84 as a college coach at Ashland, Minnesota and South Alabama. He has been a head coach in four professional leagues.
