Elisabeth Shue is leaving Cambridge.

The actress, who earned an Oscar nomination for "Leaving Las Vegas," was among the thousands of graduates who donned caps and gowns Thursday at Harvard University. Shue was one semester short of earning a political science degree when she dropped out 15 years ago.Her brother, former "Melrose Place" star Andrew Shue, was in the audience at graduation, along with her husband, film director Davis Guggenheim, and their 3-year-old son, Miles.

The new degree doesn't mean a change in career. Shue's newest film, "Hollow Man," opens July 28.
