US WEST has announced plans to expand the availability of its Megabit Services DSL to 30 new markets this year, almost doubling the number of cities with the high-speed Internet access service in its 14-state region.

Utah cities that are part of the expansion are Cedar City, St. George, Logan, Park City, American Fork, Draper, Lehi, Midvale, Ogden, Pleasant Grove and Springville.

Also, Iomega Corp., a leader in data management solutions, has appointed Werner Heid to its board of directors.

Heid is currently president of Proxima Corporation, a leader in presentation and conferencing solutions. Before that, he lead marketing efforts of the office products division of Hewlett-Packard Corporation.

In announcing the appointment, Board chairman David Dunn hailed Heid as a man with 15 years international and national experiences in world leading high-tech companies. And he said he expects Heid to "help Iomega grow its business, market share and profits worldwide."
