Charles (Chuck) Sorenson, Jr. was born August 24, 1943 in Rexburg, ID, to Hugh Charles Sorenson and Janice Spaulding. Charles grew up on a ranch west of Rexburg, and grad-uated from Madison High School in 1961. After, he attended Ricks College. He served an LDS Mission to Independence, MO from 1963-1965. He was currently employed by the Carpenters Union, Local 184. He had numerous church callings: High Priest Group Leader, Ward Mission Leader, Jordan River Temple worker, and at the time of his death was 2nd Counselor of the Kearns Western Hills 6th Ward.
Survivors include: wife, Merilee; mother, Janice Spaulding Sorenson; sisters, Linda Sorenson LaPin of CA, Ruth Ard, Boise, ID; brothers, Ted Sorenson, Idaho Falls, ID; Bob Sorenson, Coeur D'Alene, ID; children, Todd (Tammy) Sorenson, Tina Boulware, Scott (Judy) Sorenson, Dirk (Candy) Sorenson, Jason (Kristy) Sorenson, Summer (Gary) Hobbs, Janelle Sorenson, Jeff (Amie) Brown, Jeremy Moore, Branden (Christie) Brown, Bobby (Maria) Brown; grandchildren, Travis Sorenson, Tesha Sorenson, Randi Sorenson, Brigham Sorenson, Derek Sorenson, Bailee Sorenson, Tristin Sorenson, Hayden Boulware, McKenna Sorenson, and Adriana Brown. Preceded in death by his father, Hugh Charles Sorenson.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thurs. June 29, at the Western Hills 6th Ward chapel, 5133 Heath Ave, Kearns, UT. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wed. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 S., and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
