Dame Elizabeth Taylor can now add the words "Marian Anderson Award-winning humanitarian" to her award-winning resume.
Philadelphia Mayor John Street presented Taylor, 68, with the prestigious award that honors the humanitarian work of artists Sunday night during a $500- to $2,500-per-plate event at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Guests heard tributes to Anderson, an operatic singer credited with breaking color barriers, and Taylor, who has used her celebrity status to promote AIDS research, treatment and awareness.
