Our beloved husband, father and mentor passed peacefully from this world on June 26, 2000 after a heroic fight with cancer.

William O. Adams was born March 15, 1945 in Batavia, New York, to William H. and Genevieve Brevoort Adams. He was raised in Murray, Utah. After serving a mission in Germany, he married Margaret Ann Krebs on October 4, 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death. On May 21, 1982 he married Danelle Gardiner in the Jordan River Temple.

Bill cherished his testimony of the gospel and served whole-heartedly in many church callings. Some of his choicest experiences were while serving as Bishop of the Little Cottonwood 6th Ward.

As a general contractor, he developed the residential communities Walden Hills, Walden Glen and Eagle Ridge at Pinebrook. He received the Better Homes & Gardens magazine "Home of the Year" award in 1991 and the Governor's Award for Energy Savings in 1984. He served as president of the Home Builders Association of Greater Salt Lake and on the board of directors for the National Association of Home Builders. He also served as chairman of the Murray City Redevelopment Agency and on the Murray City Council.

He enjoyed spending time with his family outdoors, especially on the mountaintops climbing or skiing. Realizing a lifetime goal, he reached the summit of the Grand Teton in 1997.

Bill is survived by his wife, Danelle; children: William O., Jr. (Tracy), Vonae M. Tanner (David), Brenner R. (Mahdis), Jason A. (Gretchen), Amelia, Nathan K. (Heather), Jacob D. and Andrew J.; grandchildren: Avery and Brinn; parents: William H. and Genevieve B.; sister: Julia A. Lawson; brothers: David W., Dan S., Mark K.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 1, 2000, 11 a.m. at the Union 6th Ward, 1433 E. Old Mission Road (7930 S.), Sandy. Friends may call Friday evening June 30, 2000, from 6-8 p.m. at the Brownstone Chapel, 6410 S 725 E, Murray and one hour prior to the services. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
