Halle Berry compares facing a felony hit-and-run charge to being "dropped off in hell."

The 31-year-old actress was driving through a West Hollywood intersection Feb. 23 when she ran a red light and collided with another car, then drove off, police said.Last month, Berry was fined $13,500, placed on three years' probation and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service after pleading no contest to leaving the scene of an accident.

"I believe I could have fully exonerated myself due to my head injury," Berry tells TV Guide in the June 10 issue. Pleading no contest "was a way to resolve it that felt fair. And I can go through the summer getting back to who I was before I got dropped off in hell."
