PROVO — An associate professor of linguistics at Brigham Young University is president-elect of the world's largest organization dedicated to teaching English as a second language.
Neil Anderson, a BYU faculty member since 1997, will assume his title as president of TESOL, Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, in March 2001.
"TESOL is the premier academic English organization in the world," said John Robertson, chairman of the department of linguistics. "Neil Anderson's presidency will bring world recognition to the linguistics department and to BYU."
