Hugh David Firmage died at his home the 23rd of July, 2000, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer, his wife Jackie, their two sons and his mother at his side.
He was born the 17th of October, 1950 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, a son of the late Edwin R. Firmage and Mary Firmage-Woodward. He was reared and educated in Provo, graduating from Provo High School.
He attended Dixie College in St. George. Many happy days were enjoyed by him when he accompanied his father on horseback rides into the local surrounding canyons and the lovely trails in Midway.
For the past few years he and Jackie have enjoyed fishing with his buddies, Tom Davis and Richard Taylor.
As a boy he worked for his father at Firmage's Department Store in Provo and was later employed by Rocky Mountain Helicopters. For the past several years he owned and operated Cinderella Limousine Service and most recently Cinderella Airport Shuttle.
Hugh was a member of the LDS Church.
On May 28th, 1982 he married Jacqueline Ferguson in Springville, Utah and she was the light and meaning of his life.
His father, Edwin R. Firmage pre-deceased him as did his grandparents, E.D. and Miriam Raddon Firmage and Hugh B. and Zina Card Brown.
He is survived by his precious wife, Jackie; their sons, Joseph G. and Jamey R. Hannah; a grandson, Brandon Hannah; Jackie's three brothers, Joe, Buddy, and Eric Ferguson, who reside in California; his mother, Mary Firmage-Woodward and step-father, Ralph Woodward; a brother, Edwin B. Firmage; sister, Judith F. (Merrill) Moody, sister, Marty F. Myers who lives in Boston, Mass., and their families whom he dearly loved. Also several Brown and Firmage aunts and uncles survive him.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, the 27th of July at 11 a.m. at Berg Mortuary, 185 E. Center St. in Provo. Friends may call at Berg Mortuary Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. or Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Hills, 4800 N. 650 E. in Provo, Utah.
