CLEARFIELD - James Junior Crook, 80, passed away at his home of a heart attack on June 30, 2000.

He was born Mar. 29 1920 in Bartlesville Oklahoma to James and Ida May Tullis Crook. He came west with the C.C.C. boys in the late 30's where he met and married his life-long sweetheart, Pearl Priscilla Flitton, December 24, 1941 in Preston, Idaho. The marriage was solemnized March 14, 1957 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was active in the LDS Church. He has been a faithful home teacher for many years and served in many callings and capacities, including a clerk and counselor in the Clearfield 5th Ward Bishopric from 1963 to 1985.

Dad will leave a big void. He has been an inspiration and example to all who knew him. He leaves a legacy of tender love and concern for each and every member of his family and friends.

His favorite activities were working in his yard, reading, watching baseball, and camping with friends and family. Dad served his country in England during World War II. He worked at Hill Air Force Base, retiring after 31 years of service. He also worked for the Southern Pacific R.R. as an Electrician.

He is survived by his wife and companion of 58 years, Pearl Priscilla Crook, and their children, James L. (Diana) Crook, Richland, WA; Don (Jenean) Crook, Clinton; Stanley (Joanne) Crook, Salt Lake City; Debbie (Gary) Kruitbosch, West Point; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Yingst, Ackerly, TX; and Louise Bean, Tellequah, OK; three brothers, William (Geneva) Crook, Odessa, TX; Robert (Jane) Crook, Port Allen, LA; Henry (Lusia) Crook, Miami, FL; and brother-in-law, Bruce (Laura) Daughtery, Enid, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and three brothers.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 6, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the Clearfield 5th Ward Church, 838 East 600 South, with Bishop Max Garlock conducting. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State Street, and on Thursday at the church from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
