FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — A traffic court fined an electrician $10 Thursday for not staying in his lane on a Virginia highway after retired Army Gen. Colin Powell crashed into him.

In April, Powell, driving a blue 1971 Mercedes, smashed into Ed Nolan's pickup truck on a toll road just outside Washington. Although Nolan said he was stopped in traffic for 30 seconds after swerving to avoid an accident, the police officer at the scene gave Nolan a ticket for an improper lane change.

Powell, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and national security adviser, claimed that Nolan changed lanes in front of him, causing the crash.
