NORTH OGDEN
Our loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Marie Mansfield Peterson returned to her Heavenly Father on August 27, 2000. She passed away while vacationing with her favorite person, her husband, in one of her favorite places, Jackson, Wyoming of a sudden heart attack.
She was born August 31, 1933 in Malad, Idaho to George W. and Tekla Holm Mansfield. She married Hyrum H. Peterson on September 26, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Marie was a member of the No. Ogden 20th Ward. She had served faithfully as a Primary Teacher, Mutual Advisor and had spent many years of service in the Relief Society. She was a self-less servant and a good friend to many. She was an active member of the Mystae Literary Club for the past 30 years, one of her true loves was reading.
She had been an office manager and legal secretary for local law firms for 30 years. She worked for the Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards for five years. She retired July 1, 1998. Since her retirement she has enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and crocheting blankets for her grandchildren. One of our fondest memories will be the 20 years of Easter trips with family and friends exploring southern Utah.
Surviving are her husband, Hyrum Peterson, No. Ogden; four children, Curtis (Lori) Peterson, Centerville; Clint (Linnae) Peterson, Layton; Heidi (Danny) Novak, Dove Canyon, CA; Chris (Linda) Peterson, Pleasant View; 14 grandchildren; and one sister, Elaine (D. D. "Toad") Bohn, Malad, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother.
