IEngineer.com Inc., an online collaboration product for engineers, announced it has acquired Vuenet, Inc. a provider of software for 3D visual collaboration. Privately held iEngineer.com also announced it has closed on $24.7 million of a planned private round of funding totaling $40 million.

Derek Smith, the GOP candidate in Utah's 2nd Congressional District, is the president of iEngineer.com. Including the Vuenet acquisition, iEngineer will have an engineering, marketing, sales and administrative staff of more than 100 with offices in Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Sunnyvale, Calif.
