DELTA - Florence Elaine Theobald Turner, age 82, died September 8, 2000 in Nephi.

She was born in Deseret, March 20, 1918 to Carl George and Florence Lavern Croft Theobald. Married Fred S Turner April 10, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 23, 1986. Elaine was born and raised in the Delta area and has resided in Sutherland for the past 60 years raising children, grandchildren, cows, hay, vegetable gardens, flowers. She enjoyed baking, sewing, needlework, quilting, canning, and in later years especially making porcelain dolls.

An active member of the LDS Church. She served in numerous positions, giving hours of compassionate service to those in need. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Survived by five sons, Douglas (Jacquie) Turner, Blaine (LeeAnn) Turner,Bruce (Kris) Turner, all Sutherland, Garn (Judy) Turner, St George, Dr. Kent (Jackee) Turner, Provo; three daughters, Diane (Nyle) Fisher, Oakley, Judy (Verl) Tolbert, Abraham, Carolyn (Terry) Zach, Henderson, NV; 40 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leon, Delta, Paul, Orem, Merlin, St George; and sisters, Eda Maxfield, Cedar City, Grace Waldrum, Bountiful, Joyce Manwill, Payson. Preceded in death by infant daughter, Julia; grandson, Darren Fisher; and brothers, Milton, Goldie.

A viewing will be held Tuesday September 12, 2000 7-9 p.m. at the Nickle Mortuary. Services will be held Wednesday September 13, 2000, 11 am in the Sutherland LDS 1st Ward where friends may call 9:30-10:40 a.m. Interment in the Sutherland Cemetery.
