"Together Again"
Our wonderful father joined the love of his life, our mother, September 8, 2000, visiting his birthplace, the land he loved, where he was killed in a logging accident.
Born June 26, 1929 in Rocky Mtn. House, Alberta, Canada to Edward William and Benita Elnora Deal Sterling. He married Marilyn Jean Lang on May 19, 1956 sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Dad was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many callings from Elders Quorum President to Scouting. He retired from Kennecott Copper and was a veteran of the Korean War, a Sargent in the 101st Airborne he loved to fly and jump.
Preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn whom he lovingly cared for during her illness; two sons, Baron and Wayne; his mother; father; and two brothers, Jack and Carl.
Survived by Susan (Randy) Peterson, Clifton, Idaho; Connie (Guy) Thomas, Woodland Hills, Utah; Linda (Chad) Reid, Cedar City, Utah; Laura (Don) Seder, West Valley City, Utah; Victoria (Michael) Sterling , New Jersey; Brad (Karrie) Sterling, Virginia, Samson, Marilyn and Elmer Sterling II, all of Draper; Grandpa was loved and adored by 20 grandchildren; and one great grandchild; two sisters, Reba Bredehorst, and Anna Marie O'dell; and many nieces and nephews that loved him.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, 11 a.m., at the Draper Stake Center, 14300 So. 1300 E., Draper, Utah. Friends and family may call at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 So. 1700 E., Sandy, on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m., and also on Monday at the Ward one hour prior to the services. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
