HEBER CITY, UT - J Harold Call, age 83, passed away peacefully at home August 31, 2000, from cancer.
Born May 8, 1917 in Park City, UT to Har-old and Beatrice Pat-terson Call. His family lived in several cities, settling in Sparks, NV when he was eight.
During World War II, Harold served his country in the US Army and USAF. He graduated from Brig-ham Young University, and the University of Utah School of Law. Fol-lowing graduation from law school, he moved to Heber City, where he opened a law practice.
Harold married Helen Pay Dec 2, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Jan 6, 1967. Married Clarice Simpson May 7, 1971 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Harold was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities, including stake president. He had a firm testimony of Jesus Christ and loved teaching the gospel. As a young man he served the Lord in the Spanish-American Mission for 38 months. He served with his wife in the Missouri-Independence Mission from 1989-1991. He loved temple work and served for many years in the Mt. Timpanogos and Provo Temples.
Survived by his wife, Clarice; eight children, Don (Kathy), Woodbridge, VA, Carolyn (Marvin) Fuller, Atlanta, GA, Bruce (Diana), Woodbridge, VA, Darrell (Maylene), Houston, TX, Bryan (Lynda), Salt Lake City, Mark (Stephanie), Ogden, Randall (Kathy), Covina, CA, Keith (Carrie), Salt Lake City; brother, Dean, CA; three sisters, Fern Ward, NV, Ruth Cornelius, UT, Mary Alice Baughman, CA; 32 grandchildren; and two great-grand-children. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen; parents; one brother; two sisters; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 12 noon Tues. Sept 5, at the Heber LDS Stake Center, 150 N. 200 W, Heber City. Family and friends may call 6-8p.m. Mon and Tues. 10:45-11:45 a.m., both at the Stake Center. Interment, Heber City Cemetery. Directors, Olpin - Hoopes Funeral Home.
