David McCrae Watson, one of God's most unique and charismatic personalities has left us to continue to cut deals on the other side. From his birth, David was always looking for a better approach to living for himself and those he loved, his family and close friends.

David inspired, coaxed and earned respect and admiration as he challenged every aspect of life.

He lived on the edge, rewarding generously all who were in his realm of contact, friend and foe.

His leadership began early when he would convince five-year-old neighborhood children to pay him to do his chores.

David always knew how to motivate others. He understood and enjoyed all types of personalities. His quick wit and maverick ways won friends wherever he was.

David's athletic abilities were exhibited as a wide receiver/tight end in varsity football for Highland High School and won him a scholarship to Weber State University. He graduated in 1979 with a political science degree from the University of Utah, after serving as a hard negotiating ombudsman and student body vice-president.

His gift for negotiation, led to a position until 1981 as a industrial and small business developmental assistant for the state of Utah under Governor Matheson. He gleaned additional marketing skills working in public relations for the Summit Group and served as fundraising chairman for various local, state, and national political campaigns including Bill Bradley, Gary Hart, Kem Gardner, Ted Wilson, and Peter Cooke.

From 1984-86 he was the director of external affairs with the University of Utah Business College followed with a two-year colorful and successful office election as Salt Lake County Commissioner (1986-1988).

Gladly giving up politics, David has had a successful private consulting/lobbying firm where he has represented clients such as US West Communications, 3-M, Harmon Internation, DOD Electronics, Center for the New West and most recently the successful campaign of Salt Lake County Mayor, Nancy Workman.

David McCrae Watson, III, was born on June 9,1955 in Honolulu, Hawaii to recently deceased David McCrae Watson II and Colleen Fielding. David left many longing hearts January 9, 2001 at 7:45 PM.

He is survived by his wife Margo Jensen, whom he married in 1983 resulting in a marriage made in heaven, best described by the saying, "Our marriage was made in Heaven, but so were thunder and lightening."

Their 18 year marriage was continually full of surprises, but also intense loyalty and devotion.

David adored and spoiled his four children, David Derek Thomas Watson, IV (15), M'Lindsey Noelle (13), Vanessa Elizabeth (11), and Tabitha Jeanne (8). Also survived by (mother), Colleen, (sister), Suzanne (Gordon) Mart.
