JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. (AP) — Edwin Etherington, a former president of Wesleyan University, who also served as the top executive for the American Stock Exchange, died Monday in Jupiter Island, Fla. He was 76.

In 1962, Etherington became president and chief executive officer of the American Stock Exchange. Four years later, he was appointed Wesleyan president and served until 1970.
