Jan. 20, 2001 — George W. Bush's inaugural address was 15 minutes.

Jan. 20, 1997 — Bill Clinton's second inaugural address took 22 minutes.

Jan. 21, 1993 — Clinton's first inaugural address lasted 14 minutes, one of the shortest public speeches of his presidency.

Jan. 20, 1989 — George Bush's inaugural speech took 20 minutes.

Jan. 21, 1985 — Ronald Reagan's second inaugural address was 18 minutes. He cut out parts from his prepared text and did not have a TelePrompTer; the ceremony was moved indoors because of the cold.

Jan. 20, 1981 — Reagan's first address lasted 20 minutes.

Jan. 20, 1977 — Jimmy Carter's inaugural address was 17 minutes.

March 4, 1841 — William Henry Harrison delivered the longest inaugural address 105 minutes — during a snowstorm. Harrison died one month later of pneumonia.

March 4, 1793 — George Washington, at his second inauguration, delivered the shortest address, only about two minutes. The text was 133 words.
