Madeleine C. Bacon, our wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, and friend passed away October 20, 2001 at home. Born Oct 16, 1920 in Salt Lake City, UT to Arthur Jay and Marguerite B. Charon.

She was a gracious and elegant lady who shared a constant support, love and devotion to her husband, sons, and family. A heart big enough to include others, an infectious laugh, and a joy to be around. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and sealed to her husband and family. Served as stake Relief Society president and many other church callings. She placed 7th in the National Bowling Tournament. Secretary to the president of First Security Bank, loved travel and bridge.

In her last year her husband was able to show his love and devotion by being her caregiver. It was a joy to see them together. She will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her husband, Fred J. Bacon Jr.; sons and wives, William (Sandra) Bacon, Robert (Sheryl) Bacon, Jeffrey (Marlene) Bacon, James (Jacci) Bacon, Mack (Susan) Rideout; 24 grandchildren, 12 great-grand-children; sister, Jasmine Hazen; and brother, Hal Charon. Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Eloise, Helen; brothers, Arthur, Jay, Jerry; and a daughter-in-law, Diane Lindhardt Bacon.

Services will be Wed. Oct 24, 2001, 12 noon, Valley View LDS 3rd Ward chapel, 4101 S. 1925 E. Friends may call Tues. Oct 23, 2001, 6-8 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr, and 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services Wed. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
