HIGHLAND PARK, Texas — A laid-off electrical engineer who police say shot and killed his ex-wife, their 7-year-old son and himself left a will that suggests he anticipated the deaths months in advance.
The last will and testament, dated April 24, was found by Steven Loss' mother at her St. Louis home on Saturday.
"I am going to assume that the four of us have gone to a better place," the will begins.
Last week, the 43-year-old opened fire on his ex-wife, Bonnie Loss-Murphy, and their 7-year-old son, Evan, at a home in suburban Dallas, police say.

Loss also wounded their 14-year-old son, Craig, before turning the gun on himself. Craig Loss was released from Baylor University Medical Center Saturday.
