Margie Wilker, right, enjoys a free doughnut at the opening of the new Krispy Kreme shop in Sandy at 7525 S. Union Park Ave. The store opened at 6 a.m. Tuesday to long lines. The 4,400-square-foot store, one of the largest Krispy Kreme stores in the West, will include a 24-hour drive-through window and will employ about 120 people. Krispy Kreme is donating 25 percent of first- and second-day sales to the Salt Lake Police and Fire Memorial Foundation.
