Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Ina Garff Cannon, passed away November 16, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born May 16, 1911 in Wallsburg, UT to George Peter and Tryphena Brimhall Garff, the seventh of nine children. She married Julian Saville Cannon Sept 9, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in 1981. She graduated from LDS High School and attended LDS Business College after which she worked at KSL radio.
Ina was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in many positions including teaching Junior Sunday School at age 15. She also served in the M.I.A., Sunday School, and Relief Society. She loved music and served as a beloved ward and stake chorister. She was dearly loved by her family and all who knew her. She was a wonderful example of kindness and Christian virtues.
She is survived by six children, Mari-lyn (the late Reed) Crapo, Darrell (Kathy), Leigh (Marybeth), Shawna (Larry) Mantle, Garff (Kim), Julie Cannon; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Wayne B. Garff (Ruth), J. Elmo Garff (Kay).
Services will be Fri. Nov 23, 2001, 12 noon, Stratford East Ward chapel, 2605 S. 1500 E. Friends may call Wed. 6-8 p.m., Cottonwood Mortuary 4670 S. Highland Dr, and Fri. 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
