The Utah Department of Health needs used hearing aids to help hearing-impaired children in Utah and their families who cannot afford to buy new ones. You can donate used hearing aids to the Hearing Aid Recycling Program.
The hearing aids are tested and, if needed, repaired, before they are fitted to children 18 and under who need them.
To donate hearing aids or to qualify for used ones, call Katie Denter, 1-801-584-8218, or write to Hearing, Speech and Vision Services, 44 N. Medical Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84113. People outside the area can call the Baby Your Baby Hotline at 1-800-826-9662 and ask to be transferred to Hearing, Speech and Vision Services. Donors will receive a self-addressed, stamped packing envelope in which to return the hearing aid. Included is a receipt letter for federal tax purposes.
