Brent Que Hafen, 61, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, bro-ther and friend passed away at home early in the morning Nov 2, 2001 after a long struggle with Progressive Sup-ranuclear Palsey.

Brent was born July 17, 1940 to Que F. Hafen and Shirley Clawson Holm. Raised in Salt Lake City, he played football and graduated from Granite High School as well as the University of Utah.

Brent married Sylvia Jacobson, his eternal companion, best friend, and true love July 23, 1959 in the Manti LDS Temple. Together, they have had a wonderful life. They persisted through many years of his education culminating with his Ph.D in Health Sciences from Southern Illinois University. Together, they raised seven children and are the proud grandparents of 19 beautiful grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, with hopefully more to come.

Brent was one of the lucky who loved to go to work every day. He was a professor for 31 years at Brigham Young University, where he received many teaching awards. He loved teaching, writing and research but he especially loved his colleagues and students.
