During Thursday's two 5A semifinal games, a combined two goals were scored. There's no reason to believe that trend won't continue in Saturday's championship.

When Skyline and Jordan clash at Cottonwood High School at 2:30 p.m., it will be a match-up of 5A's best defenses.

The Eagles surrendered six goals all year, and just one in the past 13 games. The Beetdiggers aren't exactly slouches in giving just 13 goals in 17 games.

"Both teams are good," said Skyline coach Greg Deyle. "We'll just try and get it together for Saturday."

Skyline won't know if star midfielder Whitney Fenton will be able to play until game time. She injured her knee during the Eagles' semifinal win against Weber, and her absence would be a huge loss for the Eagles.

Natalie Evans, Sara LaFleur, Whitney Kjar and Lizzie Terry will have to play particularly well for Skyline if Fenton can't play.

Jordan can relate. It's been playing without star forward Amanda Feigt for the past three weeks, but it still managed to advance to the 5A championship for the second year in a row.

Jennie Haertel, Rochelle Hoover and goalie Alisa Taylor need to have good games for Jordan.

The 4A championship will be a battle of Utah County foes.

Timpview and Mountain View will play for the title at noon at Cottonwood High School.

Both teams advanced to the final with overtime wins on Thursday, and the championship should be equally competitive.

Mountain View hasn't lost a game all year, while Timpview's only loss came against the Bruins in August. Becca Peterson, Laura Heaton and Emily Boshard will be out for some revenge.

Despite beating the T-Birds earlier in the year, the Bruins probably have the edge based on experience. They won the 5A championship last year before dropping down to 4A this year.

Courtney Asay, Dixie Millet and Courtney Asay need to play well if the Bruins are to make it a repeat.
