I would think Mr. Romney would have the leadership capabilities to know which issues should be addressed and which ones should be left alone. If Mr. Romney can be swayed by animal-rights activists enough to want calf roping eliminated from the Olympic games, then maybe they should sit down together and review some downhill ski events first.

The skier travels at speeds of 60 mph (or faster) and crashes, then lies in agony waiting for the stretcher and ambulance to rescue, hospitalize and repair the broken leg, arm or neck of the participant. Would it change their minds if stretchers and ambulances were provided for the calves? I have yet to see a calf not get up and trot away after being roped (at speeds of 20 mph, tops), but if it would make the activists feel better, let's do it.

I can give the animal-rights activists enough to keep them busy, leaving Mr. Romney to do the job he is paid to do. Why don't animal rights activists visit one of the many animal shelters right here in Utah where we are forced to kill thousands of sweet, kind but unwanted pets each year?

Calves are not even domesticated animals. They grow up and are killed and eaten by people by choice. I have a question for the animal-rights activists. Why don't you put your energy and your money where your mouth is and help out where it is really needed, not just where you will get the most publicity?
