Elden Jackson Facer, age 93, passed away December 15, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born Nov 15, 1908 in Hyrum, UT to James Jarvis and Emma Louise Jackson Facer. He was raised in Pocatello, ID where he met his eternal companion, Ellen Louise Gibby. They married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Sept 24, 1934.

In 1933 he graduated with honors from BYU in Accounting and Business Administration. He received both his MBA and PhD from Stanford University in Business Administration. He taught for 35 years in the college of Business at the University of Utah. He assisted in the development of the MBA program at the U of U and served as its first chairman and also as the "Director of Graduate Studies."

In 1965 he was invited to England by the US Air Force to develop an MBA program for the Armed Services in Europe. This program was expanded to include US Military Bases in Germany, Spain, and Greece, as well as in England. He also developed off campus MBA programs in 12 locations in the U.S.

He was an active and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to Germany in 1928-1931. At the conclusion of World War II he returned to Germany for six months as a bombing analyst for the U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey. He served the church in many callings including bishoprics, high councils and teaching. Elden loved the Lord and devoted 22 years serving Him as a sealer in the Swiss, Salt Lake and St. George Temples. He and his wife served two missions for the church in the Swiss Temple.

Elden was a devoted husband and a loving example to his children and grandchildren. He was loved and respected as a man of goodness and integrity by all who associated with him. He is survived by his six children, James C. Facer (Sylvia), WA, Jeannette Martin (John), Wayne G. Facer (Mary Gayle), Hong Kong, Peggy Andersen (John), WA, Marjory Thueson (Craig), Lois Salmon (Kevin). He was proud of his 27 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.

His family would like to express their gratitude to the loving care givers at Hazen Care Center.

Services Wed. Dec 19, 12 noon, Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, where friends and family may call one hour prior to the services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
