MIAMI — Journeyman guard Jim Jackson signed with the Miami Heat on Sunday, joining a team mired in an 11-game losing streak.

Jackson, a nine-year veteran, has played with seven NBA teams. He is expected to spell starting shooting guard Eddie Jones as reserves Kendall Gill and Sam Mack sit out with injuries.

To make room for Jackson, the Heat released rookie forward Tang Hamilton.

Miami is tied with Chicago for the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 2-13. The 11-game losing streak is the third longest in team history and the longest in Pat Riley's coaching career.
