JOSHUA TREE, Calif. (AP) — A school bus driver who ran over and killed a teenager who had stopped to tie his shoe was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.

Irene Haley, 37, had pleaded no contest to gross vehicular manslaughter and was sentenced Friday.

Brian Burdett, 15, was struck and killed after he got off the school bus in Twentynine Palms on Feb. 7.
