Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Eileen Pearl Story Powell, age 84, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001 in Salt Lake City after a long and courageous struggle with emphysema.
Born January 3, 1917, in Edgar, Nebraska, to Cecil Pearl and Ruth Mabel Mowrey Story. Married Gerald Lee Powell, November 26, 1947 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and community servant; volunteering at Cottonwood Hospital for 27 years. She provided wonderful guidance to her children and was a loving companion to her husband for 54 years.
Survived by her husband; children, Steve and Peggy Powell, Rick and Lindsay Powell, Kelly and Valerie Powell; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A Memorial Service will be held in her honor Wednesday, 5 December 2001, at 2 p.m., Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City.
Interment will be in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
