Josephine (Griffin) Stitzlein, of Seattle, Washington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2001 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She is lovingly remembered by her family, including her husband of 50 years, Elmer Stitzlein; three daughters and sons-in-law; three grandchildren; and sister Catherine ("Cay") Burton of Salt Lake City.
Jo was born May 26, 1928 in Salt Lake City and graduated from the University of Utah in 1949. She worked as a field secretary for Delta Gamma Fraternity 1949-1950. She married Elmer ("Stitz") Stitzlein on December 23, 1950 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Salt Lake City. Jo and Stitz spent their early years of marriage in Ohio, Idaho and eastern Washington before moving to Seattle in 1966.
Jo enjoyed her large circle of friends, some dating back to elementary and high schools, and her term as president of the Beta Gamma Chapter of Delta Gamma at the University of Utah.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 2, 2001 in Seattle.
