Duane Edward Burns, age 66, died February 15, 2001 in West Valley City, Utah.
Born June 29, 1934 in Salt Lake City, UT son of Edward Justin and Siri Charlotte Hellstrom Burns. Married Sherril Smith Aug 5, 1955 in Salt Lake City, UT; solemnized June 11, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member of the LDS Church where he served in many capacities, and currently served as Bishop. Duane is a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His pride and joy is his wife and family. He loved golf, boating, "The Running Utes" and living life to the fullest. Go Utes!
Survived by wife, Sherril; children, Gordon (Diane) Burns, Taylorsville; Sharlene (Alan) Cranney, Stockton, UT; MaryAnn (Randy) Hagblom, Reno, NV; David (Jill) Burns, Draper; Linda (Tim) Mattson, Taylorsville; 18 grandchildren; and brothers, Kenneth, Idaho Falls, ID; Peter Lawrence (Charlotte) Burns, Clearfield. Preceded in death by parents; and brothers, Frank, Richard, William.
Services will be Tues, 11 a.m. at the Taylorsville LDS 17th Ward chapel, 3020 W. 4700 S. Friends may call Mon. 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd and Tues. one hour prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
