Hazel Dean Lindsay Howe, 86, died peacefully Sunday morning, February 18, 2001.

She was born Nov 8, 1914 in Center Creek, UT a daughter of Bennett and Sarah Sweat Lindsay. She married John Clyde Howe June 13, 1937 in Bountiful, UT. Their marriage was solem-nized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1947. They moved to Og-den in 1943. From 1956 to 1958 they lived in Chateauroux, France with their children. She gradu-ated from Wasatch High School and the University of Utah School of Nursing. She was employed at Thomas Dee Hospital, Weber Memorial Hospital and Thiokol Job Corps. She has been an active member of the LDS Church, faithfully serving in many positions. She also was a member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers, Utah State Nurses Association, Roy Apprender Guild and Soroptimist Club International.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Asael) Farr, Riverdale; Kathleen Checketts, Roy; four sons, Virgil (Kay) Howe, Slaterville; Richard (Cassie) Howe, Lindsay (Nancy) Howe, both of Roy; Robert Howe, San Jose, CA. She has a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Howe, Roy; seventeen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is survived by two brothers and three sisters, Ben Lindsay, Bountiful; Robert Lindsay, Huntsville; Ethel Broadbent and Mabel Allen both of Heber City; and Doris Parker, Orem. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, John D. Howe; parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

Services will be Wed. 11 a.m. at the Roy LDS 10th Ward Chapel, 5900 S. 3100 W. Friends may call Myers Mortuary, Roy, 5865 S. 1900 W, Tues. 6-8 p.m. and Wed. at the church 9:45-10:45 a.m. Graveside services, Heber City Cemetery, Wed. 2 p.m.
