BALTIMORE — International Basketball League players can sign contracts with NBA teams in an agreement that puts the IBL in a role similar to that of the defunct Continental Basketball Association.

NBA teams can sign IBL players to contracts the rest of the season.

The CBA suspended play Feb. 8 and has filed for bankruptcy. The IBL absorbed five CBA teams, raising the number of IBL clubs to 11.
