A short-lived romance with "Gladiator" star Russell Crowe was not the reason for ending her marriage to husband Dennis Quaid, Hollywood actress Meg Ryan said in an interview published on Monday.
"My marriage with Dennis had already fallen apart before I met Russell," Ryan told the German edition of InStyle magazine.
Crowe and Ryan began a much-publicized affair while filming "Proof of Life" in Ecuador last year. Ryan, 39, ended her nine-year marriage to Quaid but split with Crowe, 37, earlier this year.

"It would be really great if people would realize that stars are only people with the same weaknesses and flaws, not immaculate idols," Ryan said. She declined to detail the reasons for the breakup.
