Marie Lillian Palmer Horne passed away peacefully a month short of her 96th birthday in her granddaughter's home February 28, 2001 in Layton, Utah.

She was the third child of thirteen, born March 30, 1905 to Lillian Ann Bushman and Wesley Palmer at St. Joseph, Arizona.

She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Northwest States and in the Relief Society as President and in many other capacities. She lived a life of hard work and service to others. Her last few years were spent in the homes of her children and grandchildren.

Marie married Walter M. Horne in the Salt Lake Temple October 13, 1933. They were blessed with three children. She is survived by her children, Myron W. Horne (Pat Brasher), Seattle, Washington; Byron M. Horne (Linda Neville), Bountiful, Utah and Marilla Horne (Chall) McRoberts, West Virginia; 23 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Allen and Ula (Ken) Julian and one brother, Merle; also, some wonderful in-laws. She was preceded in death by her husband and nine siblings and seven inlaws and one granddaughter in-law.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2001 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where family may call at 10:30 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
