Pierre Lassonde and his late wife, Claudette MacKay-Lassonde, will be inducted Friday into the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business Hall of Fame.
Claudette MacKay-Lassonde earned her graduate engineering degree from the University of Utah in 1973. From 1991 to 1993, MacKay-Lassonde served Ontario, Canada, as the assistant deputy minister, first in trade and international relations, then in communications. Most recently, she worked as the chairwoman and chief executive officer of Enghouse Systems Limited, a technology software company.
Pierre Lassonde earned his MBA from the David Eccles School of Business in 1973. He is best-known for co-founding the $3.2 billion Franco-Nevada and Euro-Nevada Mining Corp. in 1982.
The Lassondes will be inducted into the business school's hall of fame during a luncheon ceremony at the University Park Marriott Hotel. They will join 13 past inductees, including First Security Corp. CEO Spencer F. Eccles and Huntsman Corp. CEO Jon M. Huntsman.
