Our beloved father, grandfather and brother, Millward (Mike) Dee
"M.D."
Robinson, age 80, of Salina,
died April 20, 2001 in Richfield, Utah.
He was born March 31, 1921 in Sugar City, Idaho a son of Clarence and Clarice Johnson Robinson. He married Elva Joye Davis, November 20, 1947 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. She died three months ago on January 21, 2001.
Mike graduated from Sugar-Salem High School in Idaho, Class of 1939, where he excelled in boxing, something he loved all of his life. He received his B.S. Degree from BYU and his Masters Degree from the University of Utah.
He served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II.
Mike was the head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach in Burling, Wyoming for one year and he played basketball for two years at Rick's College in Rexburg, Idaho.
Mike was the Principal at Salina Elementary School for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Bishop, High Councilman and Gospel Doctrine Teacher.
Mike loved fishing, hunting, throwing horseshoes, gardening, making rugs, fly tying and any sport that BYU played.
He attended almost every home football game at BYU since 1965, so he had not missed hardly a game in 35 years.
He loved children, so his job as Principal was perfect.
His family had never seen him raise his voice. He had the ability to write children's stories. He loved to watch his grandchildren play sports.
Mike is survived by his children:
Rosemary and Herb Fullerton of Providence, Utah; Michelle and Rod Nehring of Columbus, Indiana; LeAnn and Glen Pickett of Redmond; Rick and Kathryn Robinson of Richfield; 20 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister: Clair Robinson and Wally Robinson, both of
Newdale, Idaho;
June Mortenson of Rexburg, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a grandson: Dustin; two brothers and one sister: Jay Robinson, Wayne Robinson and Mary Rydalch.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, 2001 at 12 Noon in the Salina L.D.S. Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina.
Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Sunday evening from 7 - 9 p.m. and at the Stake Center, Monday from 10:30 - 11:30 prior to the services.
Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
