Lydia Leona Hopkinson Hutchinson, passed away April 7, 2001 in Salt Lake City, UT, at the age of 88.

She was born in Sunnyside, UT to Albert Edward and Elizabeth Ann Prosser Hopkinson Nov 5, 1912. Leona married Abraham Ernest Hutchinson Sept 24, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died in 1993. She was active in her church and served in many and various church callings. She loved children and spent many years working in the Granite School Food Service programs. She divided her life between her home in Salt Lake and the family ranch in Wyoming. Many good neighbors called her friend in both of her homes. Family and friends will miss her wit, humor and her kind supportive counsel.

Leona is survived by her three children, daughters, Jane (John) Garvey, Diane Hutchinson, and son, Lynn (Helga) Hutchinson; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest (Brett) Hopkinson, Portland, OR. She was preceded in death by five sisters, and two brothers.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Highland Care for their kind and generous care provided to Leona in these last few months.

Services will be Wed, April 11, 2001, 2 p.m. in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 Highland Dr. Friends and family may call Tues, April 10, 2001, 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn and Wed one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 S. 1700 E.
