Etta May Fjeldsted Hansen, 92, of Centerfield, Utah, passed away May 12, 2001 in Mayfield, Utah.

She was born May 28, 1908, in Centerfield to Alfred Lars and

Caroline Larsen Fjeldsted. She married Mariel O. Hansen, January 8, 1930, in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death, July 12, 1993. Etta was a long standing member of the Centerfield Chapter of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in several positions in the Centerfield Ward. One of her greatest thrills was to serve with her husband, Mariel on a mission to England and Wales. She belonged to the Centerfield Women's Club. She cooked for 12 years at the Gunnison Senior Citizen Center and retired from there when she was 82.

She is survived by children, Oren M. (Vivian) Hansen, Roswell, Georgia; Verna (Leo) Averett; Bonnie Mae (Gene) Gubeli; Val Jean (Mariam) Hansen; DeAnna Hansen; Stephen L. (Janet) Hansen; LaRell C. (Debbie) Hansen, all of Centerfield; Irene (David) Brown, Taylorsville; Scott A. (Luann) Hansen, Springville; Sherry Lee (Eddy) Allred, West Valley; 43 grandchildren; 71 great-grand-children; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Kay of Santaquin; and Iona Jensen of Salt Lake City; brother-in-law, Bryce Bertelson of Salt Lake City. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Ilene; brother, Valdo; sisters, Luzon and Elma; along with several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 18, 2001, at 1 p.m. in the Centerfield 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel in Centerfield on Thursday from 7 - 9 p.m. and again on Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery. Funeral directors, Magleby-Jensen Mortuary, Salina and Gunnison.
