The Rev. Al Sharpton is planning to run for president in 2004, Time magazine says, because he says that the Democratic Party didn't fight aggressively to protect voting rights in Florida in 2000. He said his purpose would be to promote issues that concern blacks and progressives "and to win as many of these primaries as possible. It would not be just symbolism."
